The Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of medical education practice and administrative experience with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare. A minimum of 2 years of previous faculty appointment with prior medical education practice and administrative experience is required. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and board-certified in Internal Medicine or Medicine Subspecialties by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or equivalent.

Teaching responsibilities may include collaboration with the Program Director and other program leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive DEI strategy aligned with the program's mission and goals. We seek individuals who will champion initiatives to foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and belonging within the residency program. This role is pivotal in advancing our program's mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of resident recruitment, education, clinical practice, and mentoring. The selected candidate will innovate and oversee the integration of DEI principles across the residency curriculum, including curricular areas focused on health equity and urban health. The selected candidate will participate in holistic review of residency applications and annual recruitment efforts. They will enrich the mentoring program for underrepresented in medicine house staff to promote professional development and social support networks. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.

Clinical responsibilities may include demonstrating outstanding clinical skills with ongoing involvement in patient care in Internal Medicine or medical subspecialty.
