Job Description:

This position is a supervisory role for all CCS assembly operations in Phoenix, with direct reports of approximately 30 employees. The position reports to the Assembly Manager. Product lines include electro-mechanical pressure and temperature switches; and digitally compensated piezoelectric pressure transducers. Sub-assembly and final assembly processes include soldering, welding (tig and laser), pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing, temperature testing and final acceptance testing. The position will be responsible for monitoring and implementing the daily assembly production plan; training, coaching and developing assembly personnel; trouble-shooting assembly problems and defects; uphold company safety, ergonomic and 5-S standards; and lead continuous quality and productivity improvement projects (Kaizen events).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily and weekly production scheduling in accordance with department goals;

  • Report daily work order status and problems needing additional support;

  • Foster culture of collaboration and continuous improvement of quality and productivity within the department. Setting targets and measuring outcomes;

  • Schedule periodic quality improvement initiatives;

  • Participate in daily (morning) Gemba walks;

  • Provide technical guidance, assistance and instruction of Assembly personnel;

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, performance appraisal, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems;

  • Serve on CCS’ Safety Committee;

  • Conduct himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner;

  • Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned;


Skills and Requirements:

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant;

  • Ability to learn, understand and become proficient in all Assembly Department operations;

  • Proficient in use of a variety of small hand tools, measuring and inspection equipment;

  • Manual dexterity to safely and proficiently operate all CCS Assembly test equipment;

  • Learn and follow all CCS Assembly work instructions, Job Travelers and Process Handbooks;

  • Lead training of all assembly operations following CCS standard work methods on mechanical, and electrical assemblies;

  • Ability to motivate and direct subordinates;

  • Knowledgeable and some experience in Lean Manufacturing and or Six Sigma;

  • Computer and Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;

  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English;

  • Effective time management skills;

  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the Company;

  • Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions;

  • Be team oriented and possess flexibility and adaptability;
