Position Summary
As a contributing member of the Center for Visual Art's team, the Gallery Assistant will provide general support to uphold CVA's creative mission and vision.
*This is not a benefits eligible position*
*This position does require enrollment in a PERA retirement account*
This is a temporary part-time position with up to 19 hours per week. ONLY DITA Grant recipients may apply.
Art handling & installation
Gallery/building maintenance and daily cleaning
Arts administration and general office duties
Acting as professional gallery representative and docent to patrons/tour groups
Ensuring artwork and patron safety
Programming assistance - event planning, set-up/tear-down, and staffing
On-campus representative for the gallery
Opportunity to participate and curate in student-run gallery space
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented and team player
