Regional Sales Expert - Material Characterization (EMEA)
Drive the growth of advanced material characterization solutions across EMEA by combining application expertise and pre-sales consulting. Work closely with subsidiaries and customers to deliver technical solutions in surface area and pore size analysis as well as mechanical surface characterization for industries such as battery materials, coatings, and advanced materials research.
Responsibilities:
Act as sales expert for
Mechanical surface characterization, including hardness, scratch resistance, and friction coefficient
Surface area and pore size/ volume analysis of particle materials
Support the sales organizations in identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities and markets
Provide technical consulting and application support to customers and local sales teams in the region
Define customer-specific system configurations and recommend optimal measurement solutions
Analyze technical requirements and support preparation of tender documents and quotations
Conduct instrument demonstrations, sample measurements, and application tests at the Regional Technical Center in Graz, Austria
Deliver technical trainings, workshops, seminars, and webinars for subsidiaries and customers
Identify new application opportunities and provide structured market and customer feedback to product management
Your profile:
University degree in Material Science, Physics, or a comparable technical field
3-5 years of experience in technical sales or application support, preferably in analytical instrumentation for material characterization
Strong knowledge in material characterization, ideally in mechanical surface characterization (e.g. nanoindentation, tribology) and/or surface area analysis (e.g. BET, pore size analysis)
Experience in international business environments and customer-facing roles
Ability to combine scientific expertise with commercial and strategic thinking
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience working with cross-functional teams (sales, product management, R&D)
Fluent in English; German advantageous
High willingness to travel internationally (up to 50 %)

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade - adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is 4.500 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring.
